TIM PALMER TO VISIT FILM HISTORY MUSEUM APRIL 29

Tim Palmer, the author of sixteen books, will be visiting the Lone Pine Film Museum on Tuesday, April 28 at 7 pm. A photographer and environmentalist, Palmer will present in the Wild West Theater on his work and will feature his newest book Luminous Mountains: The Sierra Nevada of California.

Tim Palmer has written extensively on the condition of the land of our state California and the entire United States. Some of his other titles include: California Wild; Yosemite: the Promise of Wilderness; and Rivers of America. He has received the Directors Award from the National Park Service in 1997.”

Luminous Mountains has a picture of Lone Pine Peak on the cover and many additional pictures of Eastern Sierra landscape inside. Andrea Mead Lawrence, two-time Olympic skiing gold medalist and founder of the Andrea Lawrence Institute for Mountains and Rivers, has said of Palmer’s new book, “Tim Palmer’s Luminous Mountains is lyrical. Yet when the author becomes alarmed about what is happening within the Sierra, he is factual, informative, and down to earth. His spirit matches the spirit of John Muir."

He will also be signing his new book, which can be purchased at the Museum Gift Shop that night.
