Explore the museum's extensive collection of real movie costumes, movie cars, props, posters, and other memorabilia. This collection represent a history of Western Film and highlights those films made in the area in and around Lone Pine from the early days of the Round Up to the modern blockbusters of today such as Iron Man. While you're here, don't forget to make the short trip up Whitney Portal Road and take the Self Guided Tour of Movie Road to get a first hand look at real shooting locations of a great many of the motion pictures filmed in the beautiful Alabama Hills. You can download the Movie Road Self Guided Tour booklet from BLM  here. A new Alabama Hills Recreation Map and Guide was released in June 2015 by the BLM and the Alabama Hills Stewardship group. It is an excellent guide featuring highlights on hiking, camping, rock climbing, movie sites and more.

The Museum is hoping to finalize an agreement with the BLM by June 15th, 2015 to permit scheduling of private Alabama Hills Tours. (Subject to tour guide availability). Private tours of the museum can be scheduled by calling  the front desk. 760-876-9909. See Tours for details.
