Extended Parking Available at Museum - May - September 30 2016

Please note:  Whitney Portal Road Reconstruction (Inyo County and FHWA project)

Major reconstruction of Whitney Portal Road was started on March 1 and is scheduled to continue through November 7th of the 2016 season. Hikers, backpackers, campers, and other visitors should plan for road closures (up to three hours), limited parking, carpooling, and a lot of patience. Long term parking will not be available at Whitney Portal during the construction project. More information will become available as the project approaches.

The Museum and the Chamber of Commerce have set aside a group of extended parkign spaces that will be availble for weekly periods. Spaces are on a first come basis. See details on Museum spaces below.

ALL areas of the form MUST be completed for your application to be considered.  We will review your application and respond within 48 hours of your online submission. If there are spaces available, we will contact you. Due to the irregularities of summer traffic, we are unable to reserve parking spaces ahead of time. Spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis.
