CHUCK WAGON FROM JOHN WAYNE MOVIE “THE COWBOYS”

Take Starring Role in front of Museum

      Chhuckwagon_in_Front_Museum

Used in the 1971, John Wayne movie, “The Cowboys,” the chuck wagon that resides in front of the Museum was driven by the character, Mr. Jebediah “Jeb” Nightlinger, the chuckwagon cook - played in the movie by actor, Roscoe Lee Browne.  Reportedly, there were two chuck wagons used, and this was the one used in the action shots.  The chuck box on this wagon was not the one used in the chuck box close-ups in the movie.   The other wagon on exhibit is a classic "Bed Wagon."  Also on exhibit is a traditional "Bed Wagon" used by the cattleman on round-ups to carry bedding and supplies.Read more...
